Would you consider time and thyme a rhyme?

The words sound the same,
     although they are not.
I've pondered myself
     into a confusing spot.

Now, take for instance
     the following sentence
that uses the words time and thyme.

               She ran out of time
                    to cook the thyme
.

I have no idea why she needed more time.
I also don't know why she was cooking thyme.

Anyway, my point still remains.
    Do time and thyme rhyme
          or just sound the same?

With all of these odd rhyming of words,
I believe I am beginning to sound quite absurd!

I must not tell lies.
     I am greatly amused.
I'm beginning to sound just like Doctor Seuss!

To be completely honest, I am filled with glee.
This piece didn't turn out that horribly.

Anyway, this poem must come to an end.
I don't have that much time to spend.
It was a lot of fun, and the rhymes were swell,
but now I must leave and bid you farewell.
This is how my brain functions at 2 a.m.

It started with thinking about rhyming.
Then about 'time' and 'thyme'.
then I was accidentally rhyming so much that I thought I sounded like Dr. Seuss.
And then I decided to quote Harry Potter.
And then I got tired and said bye.

But seriously!
Do 'time' and 'thyme' rhyme?

It's funny because they both rhyme with rhyme.

And if you see any errors, please point them out.
It's 2:12 and I don't want to proofread.

Wow, your brain function at 2 am is kinda amusing XD. I looked at the word rhyme, and the first thing I thought was, Thats not how you spell rhyme! That's just thyme with a 't', silly! And then I realized...oh. That's what rhyme is. Duh. XD My bad.

Anyway. This is hilariously awesome! And I think they rhyme, so there.
