Shilo Wallace

These are costume designs that I drew for my Theater Design and Production class last semester. I chose to render designs from Repo! The Genetic Opera. I really loved this project, and here are the results!

Note: Most of the characters do NOT have faces because I didn’t feel like it was necessary on most of them and because I hate drawing faces. Also, the anatomy is a little off in a few of them because I tried to alter the original base I had been using.

The Character!

Shilo
I designed three costumes for Shilo to show how she changes throughout the story. In the first design, she is wearing the businesslike clothes that those related to GeneCo would wear. I wanted it to seem as if she were wearing clothes that her father would have picked out for her.
The second design is from after she gets outside and sees a little more about the outside world. She keeps some aspects of the original (The shirt, vest, and boots), but is showing a little more rebellious side by wearing a short skirt with fishnet tights. The sleeves are also rolled up.
In the last design, she is wearing her mother’s dress that Rotti gave her. I wanted the dress to look like it would fit into the punk style of the lower class. Shilo also still has the fishnets and boots to show that she doesn’t completely trust Rotti and GeneCo completely.

What would I change?

I might change the last dress a bit, but I like the other two.
